This piece I made for a charity that supports kiwi growth numbers In Nz.
For those who don’t know The kiwi is a native bird of NZ and has become a national icon for NZers at home and abroad.
Kiwi numbers have dwindled and become endangered over the past 2 centuries, mostly due to human arrival to NZ.
This piece was made and auctioned raised money for a NZ organisation to boost numbers and has achieved great success Through the donations and fundraising efforts to keep this project alive.

Made from native Kauri for the wood door symbolising a kiwi claw, the stem is symbolic of the kowhaiwhai meaning new growth
